Igor's Hump!

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope you all are getting through the week alright--keeping warm and well-fed and all that good stuff! Here's some creepy entertainment, just in case today needs to be improved upon.

I found a Buzzfeed list of terrifying old costumes (follow links in photos for the full list). Here are a few to chill your blood.

Geez. I'm curious what characters these people were attempting to portray. To me, it looks like they were looking at their closet and just thought, "You know what, I just want to be really fucking scary today. No particular creature or character--just generally terrifying." And then they put these costumes on and succeeded at being generally terrifying for generations.

This one's probably my favorite from the list because, well, it's probably going to haunt my nightmares tonight. Seriously. What the hell.

Had to share the skeleton because at least one person on this list went with a bit of tradition. It's an old costume, but I can definitely tell what he or she is creeping as. The skull mask is awesome--perfectly creepy but also still a bit goofy. This looks like it was a fun costume to wear around.

Now, I don't know about you guys; but I love me a good spooky story. Luckily, a few months back, I found a great YouTube channel that delivers just that--hundreds of creepy stories, some accompanied with videos or photos to try to explain. There are a few options on YouTube when it comes to channels for spooky stories; but the channel I'm about to share has the highest quality in his work. I shared him last week, as well, and may continue to share a video of his every Wednesday. His stories are just that much fun to listen to!

If you like creepy...but not too creepy; I've also found a neat YouTuber who explores abandoned houses. Personally, I could watch hours of abandoned home footage, so I thought there might be a few of my followers who would appreciate, as well!

Happy Hump Day, everyone! STAY SPOOOOKY!!!

Today In Horror News!

Good morning, Spooks!

My first find this morning is a little bit creepy, a little bit cool.

(Facebook; Facebook)

A tiny, brightly lit Christmas tree was placed in the window of an abandoned hospital in New Orleans, noticed by a nurse who worked nearby. Nobody knows how that tree got there or where it's getting power for its lights, but it's there and very eerie. As a side note, the more I stare at the creepy old buildings the tree is in, the more I really want to explore them. It's got to be interesting in there. Anyway, to view the whole article, click this link or the picture above!

Halloween Returns

Next up in horror news, I remember hearing whispers about a new Halloween movie being made; however, those hopes are now dashed, as not only has production stopped, but Dimension Films (who was filming it) has also lost all rights to the franchise. Pretty shitty, but who knows? I'd kind of like to see Rob Zombie get his hands on a Halloween remake, personally. We'll see. For more details and links, follow the link in the photo or this one.

Finally, on a more positive note, I was just scrolling through Twitter (follow me!) and noticed that one of my favorite spooky bloggers, Justine (link leads to her Twitter, but her blog URL is in her description there if you'd like to check it out), has started a newsletter that promises to be filled with fun Halloween goodies as well as craft ideas and recipes, for those who like to enjoy a bit of domestication once in a while. I'm one of those people, so I've already got my e-mail address on that list!

Have a wonderful Tuesday, fellow creepsters! STAY SPOOKY!

Well, I Saw The Thing Coming Out Of The Sky

It's another musical Monday! Today's post is for those who use Spotify, which is a really awesome tool for making playlists. I love making lists; but I really, really love making playlists. I've been working on this particular one for a couple of years, now. It's my ultimate Halloween party soundtrack (hence why, like a painting, it isn't a finished product and may very well never be).

So, having a rough time getting through this freezing Monday morning? Put in your earbuds, turn up the volume, and enjoy the wonderful Halloweenie mini-vacation this playlist has to offer. I've listened to it so much at this point that I even have the different shuffles memorized...

Black Cat Saturday! And other exciting shit.

We can finally care less about Christmas and more about next Halloween! Woo! In celebration, here are some adorable black cats to brighten your Saturday!

KITTIES!!! (All sources are linked to the photos.)

Saturdays are also going to be dedicated to my finding new and awesome makeup products and tutorials as well as delicious new spooky drinks to try out! This Saturday will be kicked off with my favorite youtuber MUA: MadeYewLook! Here is her...Christmas...look:

Pretty terrifying for a typically adorable animal. She really is the best at putting her own creepy spin on things, which is why I love her as much as I do (more of her videos will be featured on here in the future; however, if you'd like to binge, now, visit her channel here).

Seeing as it's still technically Christmas week, I thought I'd share some eggnog recipes for those who are still getting their festive drink on (I may have to have a few drinks of my own tonight, after stumbling across these recipes)!

Santa's Magic Potion {Eggnog and Baileys} - Have eggnog to use? This drink is smooth, creamy, and puts your 'nog to great use! Mmm!

The first recipe I found (follow link in photo) is a simple, store-bought-everything recipe. So, if you aren't terribly creative with the putting of ingredients together and making it taste good, this is a good one to follow. Just Bailey's, eggnog, and a couple spices--looks super fucking delicious.

This next one is for those who enjoy being a bit more creative in the kitchen (maybe you weren't one of those unfortunate souls jailed to the kitchen yesterday, so you have the energy today to actually make eggnog from scratch....lucky you!):

Add some Bailey's to this one, as well, and you've got yourself some homemade libation!

Welp, I'm thinking it's time to run to the store and gather supplies for a slightly boozy post-Christmas Saturday. Stay spooky and stay safe, fellow creepsters!

Igor's Hump! - Christmas Edition

It's Wednesday! Which means general hump day light-heartedness to help my fellow spooks get through that middle of the week rut.

This week, I'm keeping up a gory Christmas theme; and, lucky me (!), I found some creepy-ass Santas to share:

Vintage Santa sending terror chills down the spine.

No wonder so many kids cry after catching a glimpse of Jolly Old St. Nick! This particular child doesn't seem too comfortable at Santa's presence.

And, finally, my personal favorite: Santa straight from everyone's nightmares. What the hell?
For more creepy Santas, click any of the above pictures to see the full list!

Bored of your music, but don't want to listen to silence? Here are some spooky Christmas stories that will keep you looking over your shoulder and turning on a few more lights!

Spooky Tidbits From The Airwaves--Christmas Edition

What's happening today in the horror/horror-associated world? Well, it's still Christmas week, so there's a wealth of Christmas-themed gore, goodies, and tidbits!

Amazing Ash vs Evil Dead Gingerbread House Is the Grooviest Reason for the Season

My first find of the morning was this awesome gingerbread house that was made based off the characters and scenes from Evil Dead. As you can see, there's even a little ginger Ash holding up some bloody mass of human innard and probably about to say it's, "Groovy." For the full article and more photos of this awesome, edible home, click the above picture.

Pop the corn, gather the Christmas candies around you, grab a nice warm cup of coffee and a few blankets; this next one is for those of you experiencing these ridiculous winter storms and are stuck inside due to unreasonable temps: MOVIES! Bloody-Disgusting.com has compiled a couple of movie lists to help remedy seasonal boredom (and frustration). The link I'm sharing here is Part 2 of this list; follow the link in the picture to find their full list as well as last week's Part 1!

My favorite blog (especially around Halloween time!), DinoDrac, posted this morning about some neat ornaments that may prove to be a blast from the past for some. I was barely too young in '92 to care about anything outside of the vast Barbie collection I longed for so much; and I don't think they gave these out in the region I grew up. However, like many of the old (er) collectables that DinoDrac shares, it's fascinating to read about all the little bits of culture that we've forgotten from 'way back when' (I feel weird calling stuff from the '90s old because that means I'm old...). So, here's a nice piece of Christmas nostalgia. Where were you in '92? Follow the link in the picture for the full article!

Finally, still can't find that perfect stocking stuffer for your favorite horror fan? Here's a fun, creepy, and possible DIY idea: Frozen Charlotte dolls. Not only are they encased in their own reflective coffin, which acts as a jewelry pendant; but their story(ies) of origin is also delightfully macabre. I'm seriously considering making one for myself, as this little toy hails from my favorite historical period--the Victorian Era. To learn more about this spooky little doll, follow the link in the picture.

Keep cozy, my friends; and, as always, STAY SPOOKY! Until next time.

You'll Shoot Your Eye Out, Kid.

It is that dreaded time of the year, again. Everyone's jolly and giving for at least another week, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to share some of my favorite "Christmas songs" that get me through the bullshit.

First is my favorite--and a classic--for this time of year: CKY's Santa's Coming.

Another preferred song for Christmas time is My Chemical Romance's cover of All I Want For Christmas Is You because....well....MCR.

And, finally, a bit of actual cheer from the beautiful and talented white witch herself, Stevie:

This can be a fun time of year, but it can also be really shitty for some. May you survive the glad tidings and great joy with grace, no matter which end of the spectrum you're coming from. And, most importantly, may your Christmas/Yule be a Very Spooky one!
